Diameter Sizes of Oil Filled, Rotary Heat Press Drums and Productivity Rates

The diameter of an industrial style rotary heat press drum will relate to how much productivity you can run per hour through the press. In the case of the Eastsign oil filled rotary heat press drums, the standard size of the industrial units are 16.5” diameter, or 420mm. Generally, the heat press temperature runs at around 400 degrees F and the time in the belt is about 30 seconds. All of this is adjustable and can be varied for different materials and uses, such as heat fixation or bonding of commercial materials.

Drum sizes available are 420mm, 600mm, 800mm and 1 meter. There is also a 1.5 meter size in the HS or High Speed model for extremely large volume requirements. We work closely with you to select the right size heat presses for your current and future production needs.

Here are some basic starting rates of production in respect to drum sizes;

420mm or 16.5” drum size yields about 4.9 feet/min or 295.3 feet per hour running 1.5 m/min.
600mm or 23.6” drum size yields about 6.56 feet/min or 394 feet per hour running 2 m/min.
800mm or 31.5” drum size yields about 9.84 feet/min or 591 feet per hour running 3 m/min.
1 meter or 39.37” drum size yields about 14.76 feet/min or 886 feet per hour running 4.5 m/min.
